The White Lotus Season 3 Location

The White Lotus Season 3 Location

At the time of this post, there is no official release date yet for The White Lotus season 3. Many have guessed that early 2024 is reasonable, given previous seasons’ release dates. That’s all fine and well… but given how much I love travel I mostly want to focus on where The White Lotus Season 3 location will be.

Season 1 of the show took fans to Hawaii, and was filmed at the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea. Season 2 took us to Sicily and was filmed at the Four Seasons San Domenico Palace in the town of Taormina. We know it will be at a Four Seasons hotel. One of my favorite things about this show is the vivid imagery of beautiful locations. So come speculate with me on where we think The White Lotus Season 3 location will be!

Tokyo, Japan

I think many people feel that Asia would be the next logical location. The writer/actor Johnny Knoxville who is friends with The White Lotus creator Mike White may have hinted at The White Lotus season 3 location. In an interview with Vulture, Knoxville shared “Mike White is a very close friend of mine. He and I had been in Tokyo together. I think that’s where the next . . . Oh, I’m not giving anything away.”

Now maybe this was intentional to stir up some drama, but if that’s the case there are only two Four Seasons hotels in Tokyo. Either Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Marunouchi or Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Otemachi. Out of these two options, I’d go with Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Marunouchi. It’s a unique hideaway in the middle of Downtown Tokyo. I could definitely see the next season in Tokyo, Japan.

Maldives

Clinking her glass at dinner, Daphne (Meghann Fahy) from season 2 quickly cheered to “Maldives next year!” And we already know that they will take at least 1 character from the previous season onto the next season. So it’s entirely possible to think the two couples (Daphne/Cameron and Harper/Ethan) could return in the next season and have it be in the Maldives. So let’s talk Maldives options:

Interestingly enough, there is a cruise that takes Four Seasons guests between the two different public resorts and takes them around to different excursions. There’s plenty of filming opportunities here! In the beautiful Indian Ocean, surrounded by overwater bungalows it would be a magical motion picture.

Bali, Indonesia

It’s no surprise that Bali has taken the tourism world by storm. I cannot tell you how many Bali requests I’ve received in the last few years. There are two properties there: Four Seasons Resort Jimbaran Bay and Four Seasons Bali at Sayan. Out of these options, I would think Four Seasons Bali at Sayan would be perfect. The Ubud region of Bali is so picturesque. In Ubud, you can visit rice terraces, monkey forest sanctuary, and sacred temples.

Tanzania

Alright this next one is a complete pipe dream. I really doubt it will be The White Lotus Season 3 location but hear me out… the Four Seasons Safari Lodge in the Serengeti. If you loved the movie “Blended” which took place in a South African safari resort, I think you’d love The White Lotus to be shot here! So many fun possibilities. The next group could enjoy the animal viewing in the safari, enjoy visiting local tribes like the Maasai Mara.

The only reason this one would be tricky is because the Serengeti National Park is a protected area where you have to be mindful of the local animals. I’m sure it’s frowned upon to have excessive camera crew onsite stressing out the wildlife!

Seychelles

While we are still daydreaming about Africa, that takes me to my next guess: Four Seasons Resort Seychelles. Seychelles, like Maldives, is an island republic located in the Indian Ocean. With a territory of 177 square miles and a population of 92,000, the Seychelles is the smallest African country. Seychelles’ stunning topography of coral reefs, drop offs, wrecks and canyons, coupled with the rich marine, life, this location would be incredible.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates

In Dubai, just about everything is meant to be the biggest and the best! Here you’ll find the world’s tallest building, the largest man-made islands, the biggest shopping festival, the most massive mall, and the most luxurious hotel. Dubai is defined by opulence. The White Lotus team have two options for Dubai – Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach and Four Seasons Hotel Dubai at Financial Centre.

I can envision Dubai (or Abu Dhabi) as The White Lotus season 3 location. From driving luxury cars, to shopping in the local souks, to visiting the nearby Grand Mosque, or exploring the top of the Burj Khalifa.

Chiang Mai, Thailand

Nestled among emerald rice fields, Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai is a sanctuary of well-being, perfect for unwinding, recharging and finding your fulfilment with individually-tailored experiences. Journey on the path to well-being on your own terms – from a private pavilion overlooking the verdant landscape or the plush interiors of an exclusive residence. I could totally see Chiang Mai being The White Lotus season 3 location.

During my 2 Week Thailand trip, I was fortunate enough to spend time in this beautiful city. From quaint Thai restaurants, to elephant sanctuaries, to local villages this place has it all. It also offers luxurious hotel experiences for those discerning guests that inevitably will be on the next White Lotus season.

Final Thoughts

My final thought is that if I have to pick just ONE location, I’m going to choose Tokyo. My #1 pick is Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Marunouchi. Let me know your thoughts in the comments below! Did I not include your guess in the list above? Let’s discuss!
