Fiesta Americana Condesa Cancun Review

Hi all! I’ve been so busy with work it’s been hard to keep up with blog posts. Now that I’ve just returned from Cancun for a mother-daughter trip, I wanted to give a new hotel review. This blog post will serve as my Fiesta Americana Condesa Cancun ReviewThis all inclusive resort is located in the desirable Hotel Zone of Cancun. It’s currently a member of the La Coleccion Resorts portfolio.

Most of my reviews on this blog have been for Adults Only properties, so switching it up to provide a review for a good family-friendly property. Especially since this is a property that gets sold quite often to families. I pride myself in the efforts I go to ensure I am knowledgeable on a destination before selling to my clients. Last summer, I booked a family reunion at this resort and they came back with nothing but positive things to say about it. Overall, it truly is a great property if you’re looking to visit Cancun for a few nights.

Hotel Exterior

Let’s start off this Fiesta Americana Condesa Cancun Review by beginning with the hotel grounds and the exterior of this resort. This resort is well cared for and the lawns are manicured, flower gardens are clipped. It’s a very beautiful resort and you immediately feel at home here. The oceanfront location is prime real estate and with the beach being just a few quick steps from your room, you really cannot be unhappy here! The sand is a soft powdery white. During our stay, there were red flags along the beach and a lifeguard standing watch. But I’m sure most days it’s beautiful to swim in. As you can see in the photos below, the red flags didn’t stop many people from enjoy fun in the sun.

I visited this property with my Mom and she kept bringing up the fact that there were never any bugs around outside when we were eating. We later saw the gardener holding a spray and figured they must put down some sort of bug killer. Whatever it was… we were grateful. It can be so annoying having to swat at bugs when trying to eat but you don’t have to worry about that here.

Food

One of the most important aspects when deciding on an all inclusive resort is the FOOD! Ideally, you’ll find a resort with a good mix of different cuisines and one that offers both a buffet for convenience and a la carte restaurants for experience. Luckily, Fiesta Americana Condesa Cancun offers an assortment of options so you won’t get bored. The options include:

  • Kambu – Open-air palapa restaurant overlooking the Caribbean shore. Serves seafood for lunch and dinner. I enjoyed some delicious fish tacos with a view of the beach!
  • Kalmia – International buffet open all day. Surprisingly, the buffet was me and my mom’s favorite restaurant here. Very good food and so many different things to sample.
  • El Mexicano – Mexican restaurant open for dinner
  • Rosato – Italian restaurant open for dinner. Casual elegant dress code required and only children over 13 years old are able to dine here after 7:00 PM. My favorites were the tomato caprese salad and the fish. We also filled upon on delicious bread with olive oil. Yum! Enjoy some wine while you’re here. Great selection… and all included!
  • Pizzeria – Traditional pizzas cooked in a wood-fire oven. Open for lunch
  • Sushi Corner – Serving sushi and nigiri dishes, all made to order. Open for dinner
  • The Grill – A casual grill near the pool serving hamburgers, hot dogs and wraps. Very convenient when you work up a hunger from swimming
  • San Telmo – Elegant Argentinean steakhouse. Reservations are required. There is an upcharge depending on the cut of  meat you want here but I ended up just going with the flank steak with chimichurri sauce and empanadas. Both menu items were already included.
  • Room Service – Available 24 hours daily
  • 6 onsite bars – including a fun swim-up bar!

All of the food was phenomenal. I’m going to let the photos below speak for themselves. Pretty much anything seafood was a highlight. You just can’t beat the freshness.

Accommodations

The accommodations were very comfortable. We were in a Junior Suite Garden View room with two double beds. It was plenty spacious for the two of us. May have been cramped with more people. We aren’t the type to spend too much time in the room, so we were glad to be out and about anyway. If you are looking to spend more time in your room, consider upgrading to an Ocean View Room.

There are also additional lounge chairs on the 4th/5th floor for you to relax on. We rarely saw anyone there. It was nice and quiet.

Entertainment

I felt entertainment was lacking a bit, but I’ll admit I’m much more critical than a typical consumer. Because I travel to different resorts all of the time for work, I have seen a lot. This resort certainly has a few things for you to entertain yourself, but it’s best if you enjoy a mix of fun on property and off. For now, I’ll give you a few examples of the daily entertainment that was offered. During the day, there was an assortment of poolside games available like corn hole. Beach volleyball was also available. There’s a watersports center, AquaWorld, set up for your convenience at the resort so you can pre-purchase tours through them. I saw many people riding jet skis on the beach and of course swimming (though there were red flags up the entire time so no swimming for us…).

In the evening, the entertainment would change. We were able to catch a magic show one night and a really cool fire show (highlight). Again, if you’re looking for a little more daytime or nighttime entertainment, feel free to leave the property for a bit. Take the local red bus to downtown for some local shopping, or head to the nightlife scene. Because this property is located in the desirable Hotel Zone, you’re close to so many things so take advantage.

Staff

I can’t end my Fiesta Americana Condesa Cancun review without praising the wonderful staff here. They really make you feel at home and so welcome. This trip marks my mom’s first time out of the country since before I was born (3 decades!) so she was nervous as it was about the trip. Once we checked in and walked around the property she was instantly at ease and I have the staff to thank for that. On Day 1, we had lunch at the buffet and the staff went ahead and made her a Happy Birthday cake. So sweet!

You can tell that the staff members have a lot of pride in their work. For Dia de Los Muertos, the staff made a large skull out of rice which took them 10 hours to complete! Then they decorated the buffet for the festivities. I’ll end this review with a note that my mom left for the staff after they wrote her “Feliz Cumpleanos.” My mom rearranged the rice to read “Thank You” to the maid staff. We really can’t thank the whole team enough! Rockstars all the way. I will continue to book this property for clients who are looking for a budget-friendly family-friendly all inclusive resort on the hotel zone strip. Looking to getaway to Cancun? Or anywhere else?
