Review: Phi Phi Islands Day Tour

Review: Phi Phi Islands Day Tour

Although I would have loved to stay overnight in the Phi Phi Islands, I ended up staying in the resort towns of Phuket instead (Kamala Beach and Patong Beach). Here is my review of the Phi Phi Islands Day Tour. The price of the trip was $94 USD per person and included a buffet lunch.

What I loved about this tour was the ease of getting to the islands. This tour had round trip transportation to and from the hotel so we didn’t have to worry about it. Here’s the itinerary without specific times because it was all kind of a blur đŸ™‚

Morning

7:30a – We were picked up from our hotel around and dropped off at a pier where we were to check in, grab a drink, and get time to lather up with sunscreen. We then boarded in an organized, efficient manner (colored wristbands dictates when you and your group leaves the pier).

9:00a – Departs from the pier heading for Phi Phi Islands

A 1-hour speedboat ride takes you to the Phi Phi Islands. Side note, expect the ride to be a little on the bumpy side. I had minor injuries from trying to stand up (against the rules) lol. It much faster than a ferry transfer to the islands. But as the tour states, with less time on the water you have more time to enjoy tropical island life for a full day.

9:40a – This first island we visited was Phi Phi Ley in Maya Bay. We wpent about an hour there getting to relax at the beach, see the famous long tail boats, and take an optional cave excursion (included in the tour).

Be prepared for the crowds at this stop. Pictured above. Selfie sticks galore! After departing from Phi Phi Ley, we enjoyed some snorkeling and fish feeding.

Afternoon

12:30p – We enjoyed a buffet lunch at Phi Phi Don. Food was below average quality and I was underwhelmed there. Especially after we’ve had so much great buffet food on previous tours. This consisted of some watered down soup, Chicken/pork burgers, with onions and ketchup, some type of curry with rice and fresh fruit. Water was included but any alcoholic drinks was separate. Although the food was a disappointment, the lounge area and beauty beach made up for it.

1:30p – We departed from Phi Phi Don Island and headed to Koh Khai Nok Island.

2:20p – Arriving at “Khai Nok Island” allowed us some free time on the beach to relax, swim, or snorkel.

4:40p – Depart from Khai Island heading for Phuket port

5:00p – Arrive back at hotel

Overall, a fun way to get an introduction to the Phi Phi Islands. Maybe my next trip will involve me staying overnight at one of them. If you have any questions, email cassandra@accent-on-travel.net or leave a comment!
