Visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort is best experienced by exploring its distinct “neighborhoods,” each with its own theme, attractions, and atmosphere. Taking the time to slow down in each area, especially in fan-favorite lands like Toy Story Land and Galaxy’s Edge, can turn a good day into a truly memorable one.

Hollywood Boulevard
Your day begins on Hollywood Boulevard, a palm-lined entryway inspired by 1930s Los Angeles. While it primarily serves as the park’s grand entrance, it’s worth soaking in the details, including window displays, street performers, and that cinematic build-up toward the towering The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. It’s also a smart place to grab coffee or a quick breakfast before tackling the bigger attractions.

Echo Lake
Echo Lake blends classic Hollywood with action and adventure. The standout here is the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular!, where you’ll see how iconic movie scenes are recreated with real stunts, explosions, and behind-the-scenes insights.
Nearby, Star Tours – The Adventures Continue offers a different experience every time you ride thanks to randomized scenes from across the Star Wars universe. This makes it one of the most re-rideable attractions in the park.
Grand Avenue
Grand Avenue brings a modern Los Angeles energy into the park and offers a slightly quieter pace. The highlight is Muppet*Vision 3D, a nostalgic and hilarious 3D show that’s a great break from the Florida heat. This area is perfect for regrouping, grabbing a drink, or enjoying a short wait time attraction.
Lightning Lane Passes
If budget permits, I recommend getting the Lightning Lane Multi Pass (formerly known as Genie+). It’s a paid, date-specific, park-specific digital service in the My Disney Experience app. It allows guests to make up to 3 skip-the-line ride selections in advance, with prices starting at $15–$35+ per person per day.
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
One of the most immersive themed lands Disney has ever created, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge feels like stepping onto another planet. Every detail, from the sounds of distant ships to the roaming Stormtroopers, adds to the realism.
The headline attraction, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, is more than a ride. It is a full-scale experience that blends multiple ride systems with storytelling. Meanwhile, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run lets you take control of one of the most iconic ships in film history.
Plan to spend time here exploring, not just riding. Small details, hidden corners, and interactive elements make this land rewarding even when you’re not in line for an attraction.
Savi’s Workshop & Oga’s Cantina
A visit to Savi’s Workshop in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is a highly immersive experience where guests build their own custom lightsaber in a story-driven ceremony led by “Gatherers,” making it one of the most memorable Star Wars activities in the park. It’s definitely not a cheap venture, with a $250-$275 price tag for 30 minutes.
Afterward, heading over to Oga’s Cantina is the perfect way to unwind, with themed cocktails, lively music, and a bustling intergalactic bar atmosphere that feels straight out of a Star Wars film. Together, they create a one-two punch of hands-on adventure and playful relaxation in Galaxy’s Edge. My husband and nephew really enjoyed their time here!

Toy Story Land
If there’s one area where guests tend to linger, it’s Toy Story Land. Designed to make you feel like you’ve been shrunk down to toy-size in Andy’s backyard, this land is bursting with color, oversized objects, and playful energy.
A big part of the experience here is simply soaking it all in. Giant building blocks, Tinkertoys, and familiar characters create an environment that feels both nostalgic and imaginative. It’s the kind of place where you’ll naturally slow your pace and spend more time than expected.
Of course, the rides are a major draw. Slinky Dog Dash is one of the most popular attractions in the park, offering a smooth, family-friendly coaster experience with great views of the land, especially at sunset or after dark when everything lights up.
Then there’s Toy Story Mania!, a must-do interactive ride where you compete in carnival-style games. It’s highly repeatable and perfect for families or groups looking for a little friendly competition.
And yes, many guests find themselves riding Alien Swirling Saucers more than once. While it’s a relatively simple spinning ride, the combination of upbeat music, smooth motion, and those lovable Toy Story aliens makes it surprisingly fun. It’s also a great in-between attraction when you’re not quite ready to leave the land.
Between the rides, themed snacks, and immersive environment, it’s easy to spend a good chunk of your day here without realizing it.

Sunset Boulevard
Sunset Boulevard is home to some of the park’s biggest thrills. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith delivers high-speed excitement with inversions and a rock soundtrack, while The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror offers a more suspenseful, story-driven drop experience.
For a change of pace, Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage provides a relaxing, Broadway-style show that’s perfect for families or anyone needing a mid-day break.
Animation Courtyard
Animation Courtyard celebrates Disney’s animation roots and is especially appealing for younger guests. With character meet-and-greets and interactive shows, it offers a lighter, more relaxed experience compared to the thrill-heavy areas of the park.
Exploring Disney’s Hollywood Studios by neighborhood allows you to fully experience the storytelling and pacing of the park. And in areas like Toy Story Land, where the atmosphere is just as important as the attractions, giving yourself extra time truly pays off.
Whether you’re riding, exploring, or simply taking in the details, Hollywood Studios is a park that rewards curiosity and a willingness to enjoy each world you step into.
